Completion of "APPPC/FAO Workshop on Empowering Farmers through FFS IPM {Training} in Support of Sustainable Intensification of Crop Production within context of Climate Change"

Four days workshop, with joint collaboration to Asia Pacific Plant Protection Commission/ FAO-RAP and Plant Protection Directorate, Nepal on "Empowering Farmers through FFS IPM {Training} in Support of Sustainable Intensification of Crop Production within context of Climate Change" was successfully completed on March 2, 2017 in Kathmandu, Nepal. The workshop was inaugurated by Radhika Tamang, Minister of State of Ministry of Agricultural Development (MOAD) as a chief guest and chaired by Dr. Suroj Pokharel, Secretary of MOAD. Dr. Dilli Ram Sharma, Programme Director, Plant Protection Directorate welcomed all delegates of different countries. On this inauguration session, Mr. Dilla Ram Bhandari, Director General of Department of Agriculture and Dr. Somsak Pipoppinyo, FAO-R of Nepal also gave their valuable words and wished success of the workshop. Dr Piao Yongfan, Senior Plant Protection Office of FAO Asia Pacific Region Office at Bangkok, highlighted the objectives and modality of the workshop. Twenty nine experts on IPM FFS from Bangladesh, Cambodia, China, India, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Thailand and Vietnam actively participated in the workshop.
